Our Expedition vessel

"Akademik Ioffe"

"Akademik Ioffe" in South Shetland Islands.

Built in Finland for the Russion Academy, the Akademik Ioffe with it's ice-strengthened hull, is perfect for safely manoeuvring within the ice bound bays and inlets of Antarctica. Unlike larger ships, our small expedition vessel can cruise to the far reaches of these remote waters.

Ships onboard equipment.

Being built in Scandinavia, our ship surpasses all international safety and environmental standards. With the sophisticated satellite navigation and communications equipment we are able to navigate these rugged waterways with ease, venturing into areas closed to other vessels. Designed to explore the remote corners of the world, the Akademik Ioffe has state of the art safety equipment.

Cabins and amenities on the Akademik Ioffe.

Having been significantly refurbished, we only carry a maximum of 109 passengers in comfortable triple and twin cabins. All cabins are external with windows, a desk and ample storage space.
